14th BRIDGWATER SCOUT GROUP
14th Bridgwater Scout Group is a large, busy Scout group providing everyday adventure to young people from 6-14 years. They are in need of more adult support to help their existing leaders run a varied and wide program. There are three sections within the group, Beavers aged from 6 - 8, cubs aged from 8 - 10 1/2 and scouts aged from 10 1/2 - 14.

In the last few months the Group has been on hikes, where they learnt map reading and team building skills. On camps where they learnt how to cook on open fires, put tents up and generally have lots of fun. They have also taken part in district and county events where they have won many trophies.  The group covers a large catchments area and all three sections have waiting lists.

The aim of scouting is to teach new skills to young people and to have lots of fun. We need adult help to provide this to more young people, every new leader that joins us means we can take in another six young people in to the group.  The existing leaders work well as a team and are friendly and helpful.  If you feel you do not want to take on the role as a leader, there are many other ways you could help, fund raising for the group, sorting out the badges, writing/sending letters for events, collecting subscriptions and up keep of progress records are to name but a few.

If you feel that you can help the group in any way, Please contact Dave Whittle on 01278 661109 (eve) or email him on dave@sjscycles.com
